Where does "cash on hand" come from?

If your bank is connected, cash on hand is the bank's own balance and refreshes with the connection. If the bank needs you to sign in again, Home keeps the last balance, says how old it is and offers Reconnect; if you disconnect the bank, Home stops showing a bank figure at all. Without a bank it is the figure you typed and the date you typed it — Home says "Entered 26d ago" rather than pretending a number from last month is today's. Unknown stays unknown: DeskOps never invents a zero for a business whose cash it cannot see.
