What DeskOps does

DeskOps pulls the money in from your processors, your books and your bank, and then does five things with it: shows you what came in and what it cost, bills customers and chases what is owed, keeps a running tax position, tracks what each job and each person actually earned, and answers questions about all of it in plain English. It is one app rather than five, which is the point — the invoice you send is the revenue on the dashboard is the number in the tax estimate.

It reads: revenue, expenses, invoices, quotes, recurring plans, customers, jobs, team, commissions, goals, tax position, lead-source ROI and your inbox. It writes: logs expenses and payments, creates and updates invoices and quotes, converts a quote to an invoice, marks invoices paid, sets up recurring billing, adds and edits customers and notes, adds jobs and assigns technicians, sets pay rules and applies payroll splits, sets prices and material recipes, sets goals, schedules reminders, drafts and sends customer email, and generates documents as PDF or DOCX. Just over a hundred distinct actions in total. It also runs the niche tools for your trade.

Sending is outward-facing and therefore never silent. It can draft a single customer email, draft a campaign to a segment, reply to something in your inbox, and email your tax packet to your CPA — and every one of those stops and asks first. Reversible things it just does, then offers you five minutes to press undo.

You get a branded PDF or a DOCX from the same content, so the two never disagree. That covers proposals, briefs and reports from chat, plus the niche tools for your trade — 146 trade-specific forms across seventy-odd trades, from HVAC, roofing, plumbing and electrical through fencing, auto repair, pool, cleaning, painting, landscaping, pest control and general contracting to salons, groomers, photographers and caterers. The list you see is filtered to the industry on your business profile; most trades get two, fencing gets eleven.

DeskOps tracks and splits what is owed; it does not move money to your crew. You set a pay rule per person, jobs and revenue get attributed to whoever did them, and the commission ledger shows what each person has earned. Marking a commission paid is a record of a payment you made, not a transfer DeskOps performs. Paid commissions are never edited afterwards — a correction adds a reversing row so the history stays intact.

It keeps a running estimate and produces a CPA-ready packet — gross and net, expenses by category, quarterly estimates, a Schedule C view, depreciation and mileage tools, and the 1099-NEC summary. It does not file anything with the IRS and it is not a substitute for your accountant; the packet exists so your accountant starts from real numbers instead of a shoebox.

Access has three levels, not two, and the job title you pick is what sets them — this page used to say it did not, and that was wrong.

Office seats (Manager, Operations, Sales Rep) reach everything operational: Home, Money, Ask Des, Get Paid, Customers, Team, Goals, Emails, Expenses, Margin and Ads. Bookkeeper is its own seat — books, billing and customers, no outbound email, no pay rates. Ten pages stay with you: Wealth, Foresight, Taxes, Businesses, The Record, Boost, Messaging, Settings, Jobs and Jobs & Ops.

Field seats (Technician, 1099 Contractor, Marketer, Partner) get their own work and nothing else: My Jobs, Schedule and Ask Des. Every money page redirects them, and Des will not give them revenue, receivables, expenses, pricing, anyone's pay or the tax position either — it answers about their jobs, schedule, materials and reminders, and says plainly that the rest is yours.

You can widen one person afterwards in Settings → Team & seats → Access & permissions.

It does not file tax returns, move money to your crew, or run your payroll deposits. It does not store your bank or processor passwords — connections are revocable OAuth tokens. It will not print a margin percentage when it has revenue but no costs attached; it says the margin is unknown rather than showing a fake 100%. And the AI never sends anything to a customer, emails your accountant, marks a commission paid or deletes a record without stopping to ask you first.
