What happens if an automatic payment is declined or the card expires?
If a charge is declined, nothing is charged and the invoice stays open. DeskOps emails your customer a Change my card link and the invoice's Pay link, tells you, and tries again 3, 5 and 7 days after the first decline; after the last try it stops. Your customer can change the card themselves on a secure page and agree to the same plan again — a waiting retry then goes to the new card. If the card expires before the next payment, your customer is emailed about two weeks ahead to change it. Invoice reminders wait while a payment is scheduled, including its retries, and resume once the last try fails or automatic payments are turned off. If your customer disputes an automatic payment with their bank, automatic payments for that contract turn off and you are told; a refund leaves them on. You can also hand a customer that link yourself: Automatic payments → Send change-card link.
