Where do I put a truck or equipment payment?

A loan payment is part principal and part interest, and only the interest is an expense. A payment that comes through your connected bank is not counted whole: it is held out of your totals and DeskOps asks how much of it was interest. Answer once per lender and every later payment to them is split the same way. A loan payment that arrived from your accounting system stays counted the way your books have it, and Needs Attention flags that it includes principal. If you log one by hand, enter only the interest part as the expense. The truck itself is not an expense: it belongs on the Depreciation worksheet on the Taxes page, where the cost is spread over the years the IRS allows. How much of a loan payment counts against your tax is a question for your accountant; DeskOps shows the estimate and the worksheets, and files nothing.
