Why an invoice asks
Your trade prints a license or permit number on the customer’s copy, so DeskOps asks only when the work calls for it. Your license is set once; a permit is asked per job.

the same fields appear on a quote or invoice under Required for your trade.
On your phone: Menu → Settings → Business details → License / registration number; other trade numbers are typed under Required for your trade on the quote or invoice.
